Ozark Trail 10 Person 3 Room Instant Cabin Tent Review

I recently had a chance to camp in an Ozark Trail 10 Person 3 Room Instant Cabin Tent. It was an overall pleasant experience and a tent i would recommend. This is far from the best tent I’ve camped in but for the price it’s hard to beat. These seem to be a common camping tent as I’ve seen a few around but only recently had the opportunity to use one myself. Extremely Roomy! Click here to see what others are saying abut it?

Setup and Take down

Setup of this Ozark Trail couldn’t be much easier. You pretty much just unpack it, unfold the poles, then pull up on the poles. No assembly required really as the poles  are already attached to the tent. It probably took around five or six minutes for the two of us that were doing the work. But I’d bet a determined couple of people could cut that time in half. Taking down the Instant Cabin is just about as easily as the setup. Tent stakes are included. Although they are not needed to keep the tent erect it’s better to use them and err on the side of caution. As with most standard stakes that are included, they are not the best. Better stakes can be bought rather cheaply if you do not already own any and every camper should own some quality tent stakes anyway. The tent does have a rather large footprint so it will require a larger camp site. The measurements are 20′ x 10′. Another thing I like about this tent is how easy it fits back into it’s own carry bag.

Weather Condition Durability

This tent comes with a rainfly that is great for shade and keeping out the rain. I haven’t personally experienced heavy rain while using this tent, only a light sprinkle, but have heard second hand that the rain fly holds up well in rain storms. The tent can be pretty drafty which is great in warmer weather but not so good for winter camping in most of the country unless you have an expensive sleeping bag. The windows do open and close if added breeze or warmth is desired.

Usability and Functionality

This Cabin Tent has two partitions that separate the rooms, but they are thin and wont offer too much in the way of privacy as far as noise is concerned. There are vented ac ports if you are a camper that uses air conditioning. There is an extension cord port if you camp with electronics such as fans, cell phones or radios. One of my favorite features is the nice awning that allows you to relax in the shade outside you’re front door. The tent has good height at around eighty inches so most people should be able to stand while inside. It will sleep ten people in sleeping bags but if you are using air mattresses you can fit two queen sized ones or perhaps more smaller ones. You could also use the middle room as a common area and extra divisional space for added privacy with smaller groups. With proper care and storage the tent should last a while.
